Our Story

I never set out to own a flower farm. In fact, before 2020, I had never planted a single flower in my life. But when I found this land—tucked just outside Waupaca—something about it called for more. It wasn’t just land; it was a place waiting to be shared.

I’m Rick— father, Waupaca native, outdoor enthusiast, and the unexpected founder of Barnwood Farms. What started as a simple idea—a place where people could slow down, breathe, and create something beautiful—quickly became a place where strangers turned into friends, families made memories, and joy took root.

The U-Pick flower fields became more than just a place to pick blooms. They became a backdrop for stolen moments—kids running through rows of sunflowers, couples designing their own bouquets, and people remembering how good it feels to be surrounded by something real. But we knew the experience didn’t have to end at the farm.

That’s when Holly, the love of my life and the creative force behind everything Barnwood Farms has become, and I, opened our storefront in King. Barnwood Farms – Flower & Keepsake Co. isn’t just a flower shop—it’s where we bring laughter, personality, and unexpected items to a place that feels like home. It’s where floral artistry meets fun, where gifts come with a story, and where people walk in out of curiosity and leave with something that made their day better.

If you see it, smell it, or touch it—Holly was probably behind it. She’s the reason Barnwood Farms feels like more than just a business. It’s personal. It’s meaningful. It’s ours.
